HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE:
We got Bonnie from a kids horse camp and she was severely foundered. We have had her for about 4 years and she is doing great! Great trail horse, great kid safe horse, and she drives! / Molly was purchased with the intent to resell. But since she couldn't be ridden with a bit, couldn't ride in a horse trailer without shipping boots or she'd scramble, is buddy sour, was a very picky eater, and the list goes on, I couldn't find a buyer. So I sold off my other horses and kept her. She has turned out to be a great horse, despite the rest of the issues!
Let me tell you a bit about our mare Bonnie. She is a 16 yr old Fjord QH Cross mare that we aquired free due to the fact that someone allowed to her to founder severly. We have had her for almost 5 years now and along with a dependable farrier have come a long way in her recovery. Yes there was still issues with convincing the farrier that he could rasp off that toe a bit more. But overall the horse was sound and usable. This winter our farrier had to have emergency back surgery. He was no longer able to trim our ponies. I hate calling new farriers, who to call, who will do what you ask? I had a gal come out and she was good but then I couldn't get ahold of her again. So finally I asked my regular farrier if he recommended anyone. Sure, he did. Said she was good and that I could trust her. I don't blame him a bit for what happened, but horse owners beware!
This lady came out and we talked about founder, I told her the mare had a dropped sole due to rotation. I'm not sure if I said exactly, but to me that means NOT to touch the sole. What did she do? She peard out the sole with NIPPERS! Luckily the horse knew she was hurting and refused to pick up her other foot, so all we have is the one front that is in need of extensive repair.
Hauled to the vet 6 days later for normal appointment - shots and coggins. Had xrays done this year again to see what was going on inside the hoof. The vet said horses are suposed to have 15-20mm of sole thickness from the tip of the P3 to the ground. Bonnie's left front, which she refused to pick up for the lady has 16mm of sole where the right one, which the lady trimmed has only 5 mm of sole! Also my mare is on Mandatory Vacation for 3-4 months! Hello! its just now spring, that means NO riding her at all this summer! So the vet recommends a farrier who comes out 3 days after the vet visit. He fixes her up just like vet wanted. Took a Natural Balance shoe with cut off ends and set it back to 3/4 inch infront of the tip of the frog and pounded the toe down so there is no sole pressure. Filled the sole with Equipak Gel so to protect the sole. Also he trimmed the toe back to match the new breakover and got rid of the excess unneeded hoof that she has had to walk on. He did a wonderful job and I wish I had found him first fore this last woman.
OOOooooh, I really like this background, great pic, is that Molly? Hey do you have a good link for seamless backgrounds? I'm working on something and I could use a some good backgrounds for it.
Hi LLSTAR...I'm PaintsnPalos on MEL. I have tons of pics up on MEL in my photo album but just haven't had the time to put any up on here yet. Thanks for the add on this site!

Boy just got back from Storer, said that he and his friend both got "Jack" on their riding day. Didn't know if you knew him. The girls both want to go to horse camp at Storer this summer now!
I didn't use a seamless background, I just used my full size camera pic. I believe it's 1200 by 800 or something like that... they come off the camera HUGE, and I resize, crop, edit, and all that good stuff.
