HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE: Moogles is a PMU '03 model that I adopted at 6 months. Because he'd just undergone strangles, we didn't bring him to the ranch until he was about 8 months. I didn't pick him, and neither did anyone else. In fact, I never would have noticed him if my mum hadn't pointed him out. He was standing behind me, eyes wide and ears curiously foward. I spent that day in the open, muddy paddock petting him and touching him as though he were a tamed and well trained horse. When it was time to leave, I'd turned around slowly and said good bye. I'll never forget how he placed his head on my shoulder and blew into my face, quietly bading me to stay. I knew that he'd chosen me then, and so did everyone else. It was an amazing feeling, that I of all people had captured his interest. Although he was not the kind of horse I was looking for or would ever think to buy, he'd honored me by expressing such love. At two and 1/2 years old he was taking little kids to shows and winning blues with them. He has a heart of gold and a personality unlike any other. The way he communicates allows even non horse people to feel at ease, as though they can have a conversation with him. Now that he's coming five some time this year we've been putting him over fences and conditioning him for a series. He's no longer a lesson horse, much to many kids' dismay, but he still holds a place in his heart for them. He'll be competing in hunter shows this year as well as combined events. We are all rooting for him, and hope that he does well.
