| HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE: |
Just got her in February. She was used for trail riding by a 14 year old boy. Gave her the name Ming because she looks like an ancient picture of a Chinese horse -with a sausage body and petite legs. She is quiet and steady. |

I used to work at horse farms, back in my younger days. I worked at a government owned riding and boarding stable, a couple of Arabian breeding farms, a hunter/jumper boarding and training farm and a warmblood breeding farm. This was in TN, MS, MN. But when my husband passed away, I had to get a real job, as I don't have enough talent to make money at horse work. He was the one with the real talent. I went to school to become an X-Ray Technologist when I was 37. Don't let anyone tell you you can't teach an old dog new tricks. The old dog just has to work harder than the young ones.
I've worked at my current job in a hospital setting for the last 8+ years. 'Love my job, love the people I work with, enjoy New Ulm. It's a beautiful town on the Minnesota River.
I was without a horse for over 13 years. Boy was that hard. I'm happy to say that I've got a nice little mare now. She is absolutely NOT what I had in mind, when I went horse shopping (which is SO MUCH FUN!!) But she and I are becoming friends. I'm glad I have her, and isn't that what the goal is? Every time I see her in the pasture, I think to myself. "She is really cute. What a nice horse." She thinks her name is "Pretty Girl".
I'm hopeing to meet others who have the same interests - riding for pleasure, nature, camping (haven't tried horse camping yet, but I'd like to try it.), gardening and reading. I don't show; never have. Well, there was that one disasterous time for 4H, but I don't like to dwell on that sublimely ridiculous event. I have two dogs, a Collie and a Boxer/Lab cross. I have one son who is so independent, that I feel I'm already an empty nester. It wont' be long. I'm sure he's my son, because we look alike. But that's where it stops. He doesn't like horses (I KNOW!!), doesn't really care for dogs, hates camping and couldn't care less about nature. See? Who's son is this, anyway? But he WILL ride with me sometimes (not TOO often), just to please me. I can't ask for more than that.
To me, I can't have a better day than riding through the trees with the sun shining, and a good horse under me. Drop me a line if you've got time....
