GENDER OF HORSE: Mare

HORSE NAME: Sioux Bonanza
HEIGHT: 14-2
BREED: Appaloosa
RIDING DISCIPLINE: backyard
YEARS RIDING: 17
HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE: Sioux was our first rescue and she hasn't missed a meal in 17 years. When we bought her, she was over 200 lbs underweight and had a bad case of large strongyles. However, she bounced back as most rescues do and captured my heart. She has taught many kids and adults to ride, including me. At 28 y/o, arthritis is slowing her down, but she will always be very special.
CURRENT STABLE: my barn
GENDER OF HORSE: Mare

I have been a Christian most of my life and a horse person since the age of 32 when I was diagnosed with M.S. The diagnosis drove me to follow my dream of learning about and owning horses. Little did I know what God had in store for me - horse rescue. "Sioux's Kids" has rescued 16 horses/burros/ponies and our current rescue is a 22 y/o sorrel who came to us with a 2-day-old foal at her side. Both horses are fine and mom "Penny" is currently looking for a forever home near us in Minden, Nevada.

Wow! What a wonderful job you did with Penny. What a lucky horse she is. Zip is cute as a bug's ear. Nice work, SilverSioux.

I just wanted to inform everyone that the profile picture size has been increased so that it will be easier for people to upload their picture.

Yup, that's my plan to have the option of retaking the horse if they can no longer care for it.

I'll send it through the private messages.:)

I can completely understand that. Unfortunately, even if we got land, with our budget I'll only be able to do 1 or 2 rehabilitations at a time. After they get retrained and back on their feet I'm wanting to create an adoption application. I haven't worked out the entirety of the details but all perspective buyers will be carefully interviewed and chosen.

It's wonderful work but so limited with all the abused equines out there.:(
