I am eventing in the lower levels at the moment with my 25 year old mare and i am thinking about moving up
i am competing in beginner novice
i want tomove up to novice and i could use some critique
I would not be riding this mare through novice though i would be riding my young event prospect

I am assuming that you want critique on your position... so i am going to comment that your toe is turned to far out. if you had spurs on you would be digging them into your horse. I have this problem as well!

thanks
i was squeezing her because she tends to fall back on my leg and needs the extra push to the jump and i didn't have spurs with me at the time either lol
thank you so much for the critique though

I am not an event pro by any means, but have watched a lot and seen people climb the ranks - I'd try to remember to give your horse a bit lighter contact when stretching up and over the jump so she doesn't get snatched in the chops and decide to hate jumping. Other than that - she looks wonderful, and your with her.

hi you seem to be pulling on her mouth a bit but you said that you are falling back a bit so that could be the reason and the toe thing i had the same problem but it is very easy to fix. oh and btw you 2 look very good together. good luck !!

Yer for my View I think you need to really work on your Toes. It to
the point in show jumping and most of all cross country I say it
dangrous for you. So What I do is work on getting your knee on that
saddle it rolling out and turning your foot out. So focous on bringing
your knee and have that contact with the saddle. Everything else look fine in the pic!
