Hi all, some of you know I just moved to Columbus and had to change everything around Doll. Well, her feet needed trimmed when we moved her so I called a farrier recommended to me and asked if he knew how to do the barefoot trims. Of course he did. He came out and proceeded to file and trim and now I'm not sure they look right for her. She walks fine still and has no problems with tenderness but they look too round and she still has no heel. This was something we were working on with the other farrier. She's stall kept on dirt with pasture turnout and work on grass. Good footing in all areas. But she has some surface cracks coming in on three feet. I've never noticed them develop that way after a trim before. It has been dry and her feet stay dry so should I moisturize? Most people right me off as an idiot about my animal especially older vets, farriers, trainers, etc so maybe he did what he thought best? How long is it going to take to undo any damage? I'm looking for a reputable barefoot trimmer now. Live and learn I guess?
