I don't think anyone wants you to quit! But you make a lot of acusations in your original post that are unfair. The vet has not had a chance to defend his/her actions. And it wasn't proven that the mare or the stallion were at fault. In fact as I stated before your mare probably ruptured her uterine artery.... that was not anyones fault. Nothing you did or didn't do could have prevented that. Nothing the vet did or didnt could prevent it. Its very sad but its no ones fault.... just one of the risks of breeding.
There are many people who make mistakes breeding. But instead of accusing your vet (and suing him/her) take a step back and figure out what you can do differently in the future. If no one points out the flaws in your breeding program how are you ever going to know it needs to be fixed. This was a terrible loss... no one wished this on anyone. Don't get defensive.... just get proactive with your next pregnant mare. We would all think VERY highly of you if you take this loss as a learning experience.... Think about what could be done differently in the future
By the way... how is the foal doing? You should post some pictures
