My first horse, a gorgeous, very sweet 23 year old Arabian gelding is in need of a retirement home.  He is no longer rideable (he had abusive owners in the past and therefore panics with a rider on his back) but he is an absolute dream on the ground.  He stands quietly in the wash stall and for clipping, and he's great for the vet and farrier.  "Leon" is up to date on all vaccines and has his 2008 coggins.  He loves to be groomed and will stand still for hours while I shower him in hugs and kisses.  He leads easily; he was even led around by my 5 year old cousin who had never seen a horse in person before.  He practically lunges himself.  The kids at my stable always ask me if Leon can play follow the leader with them because he is SO good at it -- he even will do walk-trot-canter patterns simply by following me around the arena.  He would make a great pasture buddy for someone as he has never once shown any aggression in the almost-three years I've owned him.  He gets along great with horses, ponies, dogs, cats, pigs, and even cows.  Leon is an easy keeper; the only special care he requires is a joint supplement once a day with his grain.
