Has anyone ever tried the gel saddle seat covers? I am considering purchasing one and would love to hear from anyone who has one. Do they make other kinds of saddle seat covers? which are the best?
thanks Amanda

We have a older gel pad, (3 years ago) and it worked quite well. Is this a seat cover or a saddle pad?

I know the saddle pads are highly regarded but I don't know anyone whose bought a gel saddle seat - I just barely heard about them myself...

I have a 30 year old stubben that I have a gel seat saver for, it's a god send haha. I finally got the saddle reflocked and all that good stuff, and haven't put the gel pad back on it since then. But it's awesome for hard saddles. All your standard newer saddles though, I don't see it making much difference. Karen

What type of saddle are you putting it on? And what type of riding do you want to do with it? For trail riding (and endurance etc) I use my sheepskin cover.. I felt it was more comfy over the long haul then my gel seat.. however you wouldn't want to use sheepskin on a dressage saddle (or the like).
Hope that helps a bit!
