HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE:
I got him when he was 5. The first thing he did was throw me over his head! I love him, and we grew together. He was my 4-H horse and I went through many 4-H instructors trying to get me to put draw reins, tie downs, martingales and what have you on him and it never stopped his head flipping and other issues. It wasn't pain related, but it WAS training related. Once I figured out the natural way to deal with it, things got a lot better and he and I were successful showing in 4-H to the dismay of some of the snooty show horse people that thought he was too much horse for me.
Titan I got when he was 4, I trained him on my own and probably made a fair amount of mistakes, but I learned from them and became a better horseman because of it. He's come a long way and I'd love to try cutting or reining on him. He's a good barrel horse and has a lot of dressage potential as well. Overall, he's just a super horse!
I am 22, and a recent college graduate that will hopefully be attending graduate school this May. I ride both English and Western. I want to event but I also barrel race. I am in to Natural Horsemanship through Parelli and TTEAM. I have two horses and they are both really unique and crazy! Their names are Titan and Thunder. We currently live in Michigan but come May, we'll be relocating to sunny Arizona! I'm so excited! We'll get to show all year round and trail ride like crazy! I love animals and also have two dogs, a cat, several fish, and will soon have chameleons. Its a crazy house to live in, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I will also be getting two new horses down the road, one for my husband and one for me to event on!
My neice moved to AZ from PA last year. She took her horse. She really loves it. You have to watch out for the rattle snakes and there's one type of cactus(forget the name) that you have to watch for. Her horse seems to like it there also.
Thanks for the nice compliment on my pics. It sure looks like you have been having a great time with your horses! They look awesome. You will love eventing when you get to it! It's totally addictive. I took 10 years prepping, trainging and finding the right partner before I finally did my first HT. Of course I spent 20 some years coaching the 'A' Hunters. Very diff. So boring in comparison! :)
Congratulations on moving to sunny most of the year long! It may take awhile to get used to 120 degree temps though. we were showing in palm springs last march and our team almost had heatstroke it was 115 .We ride in the early morning when it is hot.. It sure beats the cold.
Oh you'll love it. San Diego is about an hour south of me, I'm smack dab in the middle between LA and San Diego. It's a lovely town. Be sure to visit Old Town, it's not too far from Seaworld. It's cold and windy right now, but I think later this week will be beautiful and warm.
