| HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE: |
Crescendo (Maxx) is a PMU survivor. I adopted him from the Pegasus Foundation in April 2004 when he was just 10 months old. He was covered in mud and had very bad feet. He was reserved and shy but there was just something about him.
After an eternity of blood, sweat, tears and my broken bones, I now have a partner. I spent the first couple of years teaching him Showmanship and took him to shows. Last year I got brave and showed him under saddle. When I first rode this Belgian into a Western class, there were some snickers in the stands. Now people look forward to seeing the big horse that can jog. That first show we won five classes and high point for the day. We went on to win reserve high point for the year. It is the first silver buckle I have ever won. I love my horse. |

I was born horse crazy. I was adopted by a loving family in Arcadia, California. I loved the Saturday mornings my dad would take me to the Santa Anita race track to watch the horses work. Breyers were always on the Christmas list and I played horse show with them. Who needs Barbies? My parents thought that riding was too dangerous. After I fell into a neighbor's glass coffee table while plaing "Jumpers", my parents decided to let me have riding lessons.
We moved to Thousand Oaks and I took lessons from Jim Frasier at California Lutheran College. There I met my first horse, Prissy and my second horse, Candy. Do you know how hard it is to show two white mares. I learned grooming skills.
My next trainer was Bud Pues. He introduced me to my next horse, Ali Marran Farseth (Oliver). These two men taught me how to ride. They even joined forces at one point to teach me. They are responsible for my success showing Western, English, Jumping and Driving.
I sold all my western gear and Oliver to buy Wendermark, a 4 year old Hanovarian. I thought I was going to jump him but instead I found myself thrust into a world of Dressage. I was blessed with Lilian Van Dahn as my trainer.
After my daughter was born, my husband bought me a 2 year old paint for my first mothers day present. Trevor has been a part of the family for the past 20 years. I showed him English, Western, gymkhana and driving. He really didn't like to show but loved to drive in parades. Later I rode him Sidesaddle in parades. He is not a push button horse but he did teach my daughter to ride and made me a better rider.
Now I have Maxx. Unlike Trevor, he likes the horse shows. He is very social and loves to be around people. I am showing him Western and he excells in trail classes. He is very smart and sensitive. I really have to think and ride. I am looking forward to another year of showing with Maxx.
