DELPARK - STAKE ADVANCE - MOSCARELLI MEMORIAL
Hombresactlikemens gets stakes test in Vincent A. Moscarelli Memorial
Off the Hook Stable's Hombresactlikemens will get his first stakes test in the $75,000 Vincent A. Moscarelli Memorial at Delaware Park this Saturday. The six furlong affair for 3-year-olds and upward has attracted a field of seven.
Since breaking his maiden in his fourth career start, Hombresactlikemens has won four straight. In his most recent outing, the 4-year-old son of Salt Lake posted a 2-length triumph in a five and a half furlong allowance at Delaware Park on June 8. Previously, the Kentucky-bred trained by Scott Lake notched a 3-length going six furlongs in a Delaware Park allowance on May 12. On March 31, he won a six furlong allowance and on March 3 he won a six furlong maiden. Both of those races were at Gulfstream Park. He has a career record of four wins and three seconds from seven starts with earnings of $122,410.
However, Hombresactlikemens must contend with Walter Downey's Fabulous Strike who will be making his 2008 debut after closing his campaign last year with a victory in the six furlong $400,000 Grade I Vosburgh Handicap at Belmont Park on September 30. Last year, the Pennsylvania-bred trained by Todd Beattie accumulated a record of three wins from four starts. The 5-year-old son of Smart Strike has a career record of nine wins and a second from 14 starts with earnings of $632,832.
