Wayne, IL – June 20, 2008 – In a class that ran all day, the $1,000 Junior Hunter Classic sponsored by Meadowview Farm/Tammy Provost, was the class that attracted all of the top junior hunters from four different divisions today at the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II.

Amelia McArdle of Barrington, IL rode her horse MVP to the first place win. She rode many horses in the class, but MVP lived up to his name today.

“Yes, he was so good today. He gave me two really consistent trips. My plan was to go in and give him the best ride that I could,” said McArdle. Her winning horse, MVP, is a Dutch Warmblood imported from Europe.“His personality is great. He is always sweet to be around. He likes treats,” laughed McArdle.

The hunter classic consisted of two rounds. The second round was a handy hunter type of course. This course included two different options for a trot fence, a hand-gallop and tidy roll back turns.

Riders rode in all types of weather. Half of the class competed under the sun and the other half rode through sporadic downpours. Yet riders kept things together and produced some brilliant rides.

Tomorrow is the day filled with excitement at the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II. At 3:30 pm, the $50,000 Wachovia Securities Grand Prix begins. Top name riders from around the country will compete. In the hunter rings, the junior hunters will finish their division classes, plus more classes for Amateur, Adult, Children’s, and Pony Hunters.
