Deeridge Farm Captures Blues at I Love New York Horse Show in Lake Placid

Lake Placid, NY – July 9, 2008 – Deeridge Farm had a fantastic show during the second week of the Lake Placid Horse Shows in Lake Placid, NY. The second week of competition, the I Love New York Horse Show, was held from July 1-6, 2008. The Deeridge Farm “dream team” is based out of East Aurora, NY, and Wellington, FL.

Louis Jacobs and Deeridge Farm’s horse Kachina were fifth in the $75,000 Hermes Grand Prix of Lake Placid. Additionally, the $30,000 Open Jumper Classic brought a ninth place finish for Jacobs and Kachina. In the $1,500 Low Amateur-Owner Jumpers, he triumphed for the win on Soleil, owned by Deeridge Farm. They also captured second place in another Low Amateur-Owner Jumper class.

Jacobs rode to a fourth place ribbon on Soleil in the $1,200 1.30m class, and the pair took home second place in the $1,200 1.30m Power and Speed. Charlie Jacobs, Louis’ brother, placed well in the 1.30m Power and Speed class on O’Lilly, owned by Olivia Slutzky.

Joan Jacobs was a contender in the Adult Amateur Jumpers. In the $5,000 Adult Amateur Jumper Classic, she was the one to beat with a first place finish on Boyke 2, owned by Deeridge Farm. The duo captured two more blue ribbons in the $1,500 Adult Amateur Jumper division.

Charlotte Jacobs rode two horses in the $3,000 NAL Children’s Jumper Classic. She brought home a fifth on Ramone, owned by Missy Clark. In addition, she came away with ninth place on her own horse Lawando. In the equitation on the flat, Jacobs came away with a third place on Wilkinton, owned by Malcom Macnaughton. Jacobs was first on Wilkinton in the equitation over fences and fifth in the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship Section B.

In the hunter ring, Kimberly Jacobs picked up a fourth place ribbon on Dawson, owned by Carol Toulas, in the Adult Amateur Working Hunters 36-50. Katie Jacobs-Robinson did very well on So You Say, owned by Deeridge Farm, in the Amateur-Owner Hunter 36 and Over division. She received a first, two fourths, a fifth and a sixth place ribbon.

Deeridge Farm will compete next at the Vermont Summer Festival during the week of July 9-13, 2008.
