Through a unique blend of demonstrations, expert techniques and humorous banter Dunning and Avila will combine their considerable talents to provide the crowds with proven methods for training reining horses.  Following is their schedule of clinics:

Friday – June 6 – 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
Why we train in Circles

Saturday – June 7 – 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Basics of Turnarounds and Stops

Sunday – June 8 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Lead Changes

“Bob and Al keep crowds on the edge of their seats and asking for more at their clinics,” said Chris Jacobi, senior vice president, Equine Products.  “They are world champion riders and trainers of world champion horses.  Together they demonstrate a willingness to share the expertise that marks them as world-class equestrians.  Like all professional equestrians, Bob and Al know high quality products can help promote peak performance in competition and training.”

In addition to their clinics, Dunning and Avila will be in the Farnam Booth, #2416, three times throughout the weekend:

Friday – June 6 – 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday – June 7 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Sunday – June 8 – 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Al Dunning was named American Quarter Horse Association Professional Horseman of the Year in 1996, received the Zane Schulte NCHA Trainer of the Year Award in 2003 and was the recipient of the Monty Roberts Equitarian Award in 2004.  He received the "Spirit of Community Award" in 2005 from the Scottsdale Charros for his contribution to an innovative horse program for children called "Horsesense."  Dunning has owned and operated Almosta Ranch, a Quarter Horse training facility in Scottsdale, Ariz., since 1970.  Dunning and his students have garnered 21 world titles, including 9 AQHA World Championships, 9 AQHA Reserve World Championships, 7 AQHA Amateur World titles, 3 AJQHA World Championships, more than 600 Arizona Year End Championships, and 11 All-American Congress Winners. Dunning also placed in the 2001 NRCHA World’s Greatest Horseman contest.

Bob Avila, of Temecula, California, is the trainer of more than 35 world champion or reserve world champion Quarter Horses, in events that range from performance to halter. He's one of the only horsemen to have won both the $100,000.00 open championship of the Reining Horse Association Futurity, and the $100,000.00 open championship of the Nation Reined Cow Horse Association Futurity.  Bob broke new ground at the 2007 Western States Horse Expo by being the first horseman to win the Magnificent 7 National Reined Cow Horse Championship not only twice but back to back.
