GENDER OF HORSE: Mare

HORSE NAME: Reba and Mell
HEIGHT: 14.1-14.2
BREED: Palomino and a Morab
RIDING DISCIPLINE: Western/Englsih/Bare
YEARS RIDING: 15
UPCOMING COMPETITIONS: Stoughton Fair.. maybe- July 3,4,5

Dane County Fair- July 16- 20
HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE: SF Rebellious Miss
Reba- I purchased her from a close friend, Jan, who had bought her from a group of people who said she was 'wild and crazy'. The people had bought her from an auction and knew nothing of horses. They had tried to load her using a fenced chute. Jan led her right into her trailer without any problems. We think Reba is a qh- tennesee walker cross because although she looks qh, she gaits beautifully. She has mild navicular in her fore right hoof. She is registered with the PHA and due to foal in late May 2008.

Ibn Mirage
Melody- Mell is the daughter of my mothers first horse, Tora, and is a 7/8ths arabian mare. She has 1/16th of morgan and 1/16th of quater as well. She is a grey mare with a pretty head and tail set. She is my speed horse and even at 22 is the fastest horse I have ridden. She is due to foal May 2008 as well.

Both of my mares have gone on +10 mile rides and done fine. Mell rarely breaks a sweat, and on occasion Reba's hoof bugs her.
CURRENT STABLE: Sutcliffe Farms
GENDER OF HORSE: Mare

My name is Holly. I am 16 and an active horse lover. I like showing for fun, and thoroughly enjoy late night rides with my friends. My two mares were pregnant, but they both reabsorbed their foals. I am now in the process of deciding who to show this next year and so far my options don't look as good as I had hoped. We'll see if I decide to show my friends older/spunky arab, my palomino with the navicular hoof, or just convince my parents we really do need another younger horse. lol. I love riding my friends horses and any others I can try out, I feel it helps me broaden my knowledge of how to handle each seperate situation. I showed my friends Morgan, Shadow, at fair this last year in English, Western and Trail. We earned two seconds and three thirds. One of my friends joked that if I had competed once more then we might have gotten a first. I have ridden all my life but only recently did I get active in the horse community. I am a proud member of the FFA and correspond with a local horse specified 4-H group. Mac, Em, Dee, and Osh are my usual riding partners and a girl couldn't have better partners. Though I have to say, we could all do without Apache, Mocha, Kymoo and Reb's fits... and Mell's occasional suicidal intentions/ addiction to moving vehicles. lmao. :]

Well well. We had a mare foal about two and a half months ago, and she's had a long ordeal. She was fine until the colt was two months, then she colicked, needed surgery and just came back. Now she's showing signs of colic again. I just hope we can save her... she's a good mare.

What stallion(s) did you breed to? If you have any foaling questions, feel free to ask. I've been around babies for a long time.

Thanks for the lovely comment. She floats like a dream and has a pretty natural way of going, including a natural headset which is helping to build her neck up already.

Tell me more about your mare
