FAVORITE TRAIL RIDES:
Any ride with good friends on safe horses, when we can ride till the cows come home! For organized rides I'd have to say the Rockwall County Sheriff's Dept annual trail ride & BBQ is right on up there.
I can relate to so many of the stories I've read here on BarnCulture, that it feels like coming HOME when I come here.
I'm quite spoiled in some ways and very much loved, which makes me one lucky woman several times over. I've got some of the BEST friends any one person could ask for, and for that I am VERY grateful.
I love Epic. He reminds me somewhat of my aunt's horse Brandy (passed away many years ago). My Aunt stands 4'11 and Brandy was 15'1 about 1500 pounds. A all most gentle giant.
Yeah Manitowoc is near Maribel (though I'm not exactly sure how far apart they are. I've never actually had a need to go to Maribel -- haha!) That's really cool that you've heard of my town; even people in other parts of Wisconsin have never heard of it!
And thanks, the show went pretty well. My horse behaved wonderfully and my trainer said we looked great in all of our classes. It was an open judge who tended to favor the stock breeds more than the English-type horses, so the fact that we placed (I have a Saddlebred and we got a 4th and 3rd) made me happy.
