| HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE: |
Mare, Mare, Mare, Gelding
Sunshine: I went with a friend of mine to the Shipshewana horse auction in Indiana to look for a draft horse. I found Sunshine in the kill pen there scurrying out into the aisle way from the man yielding the infamous cane. I knew I had to have her so I bid against the meat buyers and won. We loaded her up and took her home and she's been my primary mount ever since. We've competed in shows, judged trail rides, extreme events, learned to drive together, promoted kill pen horses together, camped together and had some accidents together. I'll never sell her. She's my Sunshine!
Frolics Te N Tee: I got Tee almost four years ago in a trade. I traded a Buckskin QH gelding for her. I rode Tee and she was absolutely amazing! She was previously a lesson horse at Xanadu Farms in Flushing, MI which is also the farm where she was traded from. She has an amazing temperament/disposition. She is my 14 yo son's primary mount and trail riding buddy. He is totally in love with her as am I.
Belle: I got Belle in December 2007. She was one of the hardest horses I've helped to load in the trailer! She took 45 minutes for the previous owner to catch and at the time I asked myself WHY I was buying her! The first day home I was trying to get to know her in the pasture when she swung her butt around, bucked and made full front contact with me, including my mouth, and I fell into a manure pile! I was less than amused! We came to an understanding as soon as I could peel myself up from the manure pile and now she knows who's boss! It took a while for her to trust me (or anyone) and now she's just as sweet as they come! I found she is broke to ride and drive and is turning out to be a wonderful child's pony. My 5 yo rides her on lead and he will be learning to ride on his own with her.
Blaze: is a 10 yo Quarab. He was given to me and is a project horse. He's getting healthy now at my farm and learning to be a nice horse. He seems to be enjoying his new home with us and his new horse friends.
Lucky: I got Lucky from the kill pen at the Shipshewana, IN auction. He's a yearling. I didn't plan to get him but after a little coaxing from my friend, he came home with me. He's super cute and loveable! |

My name is Laurie. I am married and have two boys (14 & 5). I have five horses. Three mares, a stud colt and a gelding. I enjoy camping with my friends, my son and our horses. I LLLOOOOVVVEEEE to trail ride! I really like going up and down steep hills, through water and over bridges. I like riding through the woods and sometimes just around a country block with just me and my horse. When possible, I like to travel out of state with my horses to trail ride. I have a cart and Sunshine and I pleasure drive every chance we get. I'm just getting into showing, judged trail rides and extreme cowboy events. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, swimming, walking, surfing the web, shopping for horse stuff, camping with my horses and talking about horses. My husband and I just purchased a farm we call Sunshine Acres named after my beloved Belgian, Sunshine. We offer boarding, beginner lessons and leasing. We're very excited about this new adventure!! I'm a member of a local riding club, the Allegan County Pleasure Riders.
