I love country life!! I have been happily married for 28 years and have one daughter. We have 4 cat's, 2 dog's and 6 horses of our own. In addition to that we board about 12 other horses. Our life pretty much is all about our animals. I do manage though to still play a lot of tennis, snow ski, work in the garden and do some quilting. I would have to say that I have a pretty good life and am very grateful for that.

It was completely the BO's fault. She refused to move the gelding knowing that he had been a stud and gelded not too long ago. He broke in one other time, but nobody got hurt. We had thought he'd be moved. In fact, he was for a few days. But for some reason he was moved next to her again. She didn't do anything for us or even give us notification. She moved my horse, left my Mom's in with the wreckage, and somehow didn't notice the huge softball sized hematoma and about 11 kick marks.

It turns out that she was fine after all. Just a month was all that she ever needed in the end. I rode her last night and she was sound walk, trot, and canter. It's a miracle I believe and I am happy that she's alright again. There are some scratches but hair is well on the way to growing back and the hematoma is completely gone now. They didn't pay the bills, or even offer to do that or take her. We never took her to the vet because hydrotherapy seemed to work, and all the damage was gone with just that 2x a day for about a month. I can't be more thankful to be out of that place, not have to talk to that lady anymore, and have my horse in a safe place.

Thanks Suerae, looking at your slide show and pictures makes me want to load up and come live there! Everything looks just right...peaceful, calm - happy. :-)
And I LOVE your kitties! lol (I am also easily amused)
You truly have a beautiful family. :-)

I have had 3 track meets in 4 days. Just got home around 11 tonight. Had 2 meets last week. Took off tomorrow afternoon so daughter & I can go to first horse show of the year. Don't even have my trailer packed. I'm so unorganized this year. I'm just taking daughter's yearling for lunge line class for her to show. I'm taking frozen margaritas & daiquiris for me, maybe some COORS light too. Just going to chill all weekend with my horsey friends. How 'bout you? Anything new?

Thanks! Nice to meet you too. Stinks to have hurt your back, especially in gardening season! Hope it feels better soon!

It could be better.

My mare is injured from a pretty bad situation we pulled her out of almost immediately. [Careless ex-stable owner who refused to get a vet over when another horse busted in and beat her up.. Huge hematoma on her side. This happened two weeks ago.] In two more weeks Angel should be fine, but... I feel awful for not being able to prevent it. But we're at a new place, my Mom's horse is starting to understand that trot is not the only gait bareback and it's all good. :)

Haha, yeah. Thanks about Moogz. He is very special to us. He's very good for the soul, that's for sure.
