| HISTORY OF YOUR HORSE: |
Red was raised in Humboldt County. I am his 3rd owner. His first human mom (Marion) bottle fed him after his mother died. When he was around 6 she sold him to a fellow with 4 sons - they did alot of packing up and down the west coast. Hard times fell upon Red's second owner who was unable to care for his herd after a heart attack & bypass. Marion was so troubled by Red's condition that she bought him back, got in in shape, and put him up for sale. LUCKY ME - right when I started shopping for my 1st horse after 27 years without.
Red is a challenging/social horse (type from Ride the Right Horse: Understanding the Core Equine Personalities & How to Work with Them by Yvonne Barteau)who was totally spoiled when he came to me. We have developed mutual trust and respect through TONS of groundwork. I'm learning natural hoof care and am now trimming Red's hoofs myself. He lives with his herd on 40 acres and enjoys spending cold evenings munching down in his cozy stall. |
