Lake Mead National Recreation Area Map Lake Mead National Recreation Area Location: Nevada Trail Information: Horses and Pack Animals can be ridden all over the Recreation Area except in Picnic Areas and Campgrounds. The trails listed below also exclude horses and pack animals. - Boulder Beach along the causeway south to special events beach. - Callville Bay ¼ mile from the developed beach - ¼ mile from all of the launch ramps are closed to horses. - Overton Beach from the concessions rv park to the boat ramp to the south. - Katherines landing in the areas known as South Telephone Cove. - Cottonwood cove along the beach area called South Telephone Cove. - Willow Beach from the Fish Hatchery to the south parking lot. Grand Canyon National Park Grand Canyon National Park Location: Arizona Trail Information: Horse back riders are allowed on, bright angel trail, river trail (this trail is restricted to the area between South Kaibab and Bright Angel along the Colorado river), South Kaibab Trail, Plateau Point Trail, North Kaibab Trail, Tiyo Point, Arizona Trail, Uncle Jim Trail, E-4 Komo Point, E-4 Ariel Point, E-5 Francois Matthes, E-6 Walhalla Glades and Tuweep. There are several horse camps throughout the park that except our equine friends. Mule Trips are available on both the south and the north rim.
